<p>A hydrophobically esterified starch, is disclosed, having the general formula: wherein R1 and R2 are separately linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated aliphatic chains having 1 to 22 carbons. Also disclosed is the process of making such hydrophobically esterified starch. The process can be enzymatic where an enzyme is used as a catalyst for the reaction. The process can also be chemical where no enzyme is used.</p> |
