<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter with a construction making full use of the functions of a semitransmissive type, further hardly generating cell gap unevenness and having improved picture quality without increasing manufacturing steps and a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter has at least a coloring layer and a protective film layer on a transparent substrate wherein the coloring layer consists of a transmission region and a reflection region. The color filter for the liquid crystal display device is characterized by having at least one color of the coloring layer composed of an identical color material for both the transmission region and the reflection region, containing a transparent region in the reflective display region and having spacers composed of a resin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
