Microorganisms are grown in a medium containing lysine analogues as inhibitors. Strains resistant to these inhibitors are selected, and are grown in a medium without inhibitors, with a hydrocarbon as C source. Extra cellular free lysine is produced and is isolated from the medium by ion-exchange. Pref. the first step is carried out with too little C-source for optimum group; in the final step, the hydrocarbon is of 6-18C atoms, and growth factors are also present. The micro organism is pref. a bacterium. In an example Pseudomonas aeruginosa was used and gave 1.5g of L-Lysine per litre of medium.
|
