PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the travel of a cleaning tape normal by preventing reverse rotation of a heat roller and of a take-up shaft. SOLUTION: A fixing device is provided with a heat roller 1, a pressure roller 2 which cooperates with the heat roller to transport recording paper and fixes a toner image formed on the recording paper, a roll-shaped cleaning tape S, a support shaft 11 which supports the cleaning tape, the take-up shaft 12 which takes up the cleaning tape drawn out from the support shaft, a press shaft 13 which brings the cleaning tape traveling from the support shaft to the take-up shaft into contact with the heat roller, and a rotationally driving mechanism which rotationally drives the heat roller in a recording paper transport direction; and is further equipped with a unidirectional clutch which is provided in the rotationally driving mechanism and stops the heat roller from rotating reversely to the recording paper transport direction, and a ratchet wheel and a detent which stop the take-up shaft from rotating reversely to the tape take-up direction.
