摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy casting producible without a marked cost increase, excellent in durability against thermal fatigue, and suitable for e.g. an internal combustion engine cylinder head and to provide a method for producing the casting. SOLUTION: The method comprises casting an aluminum alloy which contains 6.5-7.5 mass% Si, below 2.0 mass% Cu, at most 0.64 mass% Mg, at most 0.15 mass% Fe, and the balance substantially consisting of Al and satisfies the formulae: 3.3Cu (mass%)+10.3Mg (mass%)<6.6 (1) and 23.1Cu (mass%)+29.4Mg (mass%)>16.6 (2) (wherein Cu is the Cu content, and Mg is the Mg content) into a mold preheated to 350-400°C at a molten metal temperature of 680-720°C and subjecting the formed casting to T7 treatment.
