<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming apparatus capable of making color slurring smaller than that of the conventional apparatus, and a processing method for the color image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the color image forming apparatus equipped with an intermediate transfer member or a carrying belt moving in a circulatory manner, the intermediate transfer member or the carrying belt is idly rotated for a required time (step 1), and a color slurring detection pattern is formed on the intermediate transfer member or the carrying belt (step 4) after performing step 1. By processing in such a way, the rotation of a speed detection roller is made stable, the color slurring detection pattern is formed in a stable state, and the color slurring in a subscanning direction is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
