PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the depth and width of a slide scratch rapidly and accurately. SOLUTION: The system for measuring the dimension of the slide scratch is provided with a laser emitting device 23 which measures the distance up to a rotor journal 3 by emitting a laser beam R, an electric stage 14 which is used for installing the laser emitting device 23, and moves the laser emitting device 23 in the direction of one axis, a base plate 16 which is used for installing the electric stage 14 and mounted on the rotor journal 3, and a personal computer (not shown) which calculates and outputs the depth and width of the slide scratch in the rotor journal 3, based on a distance signal relating to the rotor journal 3 being output from the laser emitting device 23 when the electric stage 14 moves on the base plate 16, thereby moving the laser emitting device 23.
