PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the smooth supply of toner to a developing roller for a long time to make obtainable high image quality. SOLUTION: This developing device 30 carries out development by supplying non-magnetic single component toner 32 from the developing roller 33 to an electrostatic latent image formed on the external circumferential surface of a photosensitive drum 21. The toner 32 is supplied in a positively electrified state, from a supply roller 34 to the developing roller 33 within a toner container 31. Positive DC bias voltages are supplied to the developing roller 33 and the supply roller 34 from DC power sources 35 and 36, respectively. A large number of threads 40 are attached to the external circumferential surface of the core 41 of the supply roller 34.
