PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which a small-sized and low withstand voltage driving circuit is formed on the same substrate as a display part.

SOLUTION: A circuit for realizing AC-driving by lowering a pixel potential is formed separately from a driving circuit for supplying gradation voltage to a pixel. A positive polarity signal is written to pixel electrodes, and the potential of the pixel electrodes is lowered by using the capacitance connected to the pixel electrodes after writing the signal. Moreover, to reduce waveform distortion of a scanning signal, a pull-up circuit to supplement off-switching is arranged between a circuit for reducing the pixel potential and a display area.
