OPTICAL FIBER AGGREGATE COATING APPARATUS AND OPTICAL FIBER RIBBON MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the quality of a ribbon of coated optical fibers by evading adverse influence of an ultraviolet-ray coating part without depositing dust on a nipple where ultraviolet-ray setting resin is applied when the ribbon of coated optical fibers is manufactured by coating an optical fiber aggregate constituted by arranging a plurality of optical fibers in plane. SOLUTION: An optical fiber aggregate coating apparatus 10 is equipped with the nipple 12, a resin pool part 14, and a forming die 15 and a subnipple 11 is arranged in front of the nipple 12. The subnipple 11 has a subnipple hole 11a as a through hole having nearly the same clearance with a nipple hole 12a as a through hole of the nipple 12 and the subnipple hole 11a removes dust 2 sticking on the optical fibers 1a to 1d of the optical fiber aggregate 1. The apparatus 10 coats the optical fiber aggregate 1 with the ultraviolet-ray setting resin and the sets the resin with an ultraviolet-ray setting lamp. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
