The information system, linking a production unit (3) to a consumer unit (13) with a storage facility for a consumed product such as a liquefied gas, has a memory unit (4) to hold data relating to the stocks of the product in the consumer unit's storage facility (7), together with details of the consumer's needs for the product. A data calculating unit (16) calculates data forecasting future consumption from the memorized data, and the information system also has a system for transmitting the processed data to the production unit.
