PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for reducing the blood glucose level in patients suffering from diabetes as a new use of a capsaicinoidlike substance (capsinoid).

SOLUTION: The composition for reducing the blood glucose level in the patients suffering from the diabetes comprises the capsaicinoidlike substance (capsinoid) represented by either one of general formulae (wherein, n is an integer of ≥1). The capsaicinoidlike substance (capsinoid) has strong reducing actions on the diabetic glucose level and resultantly provides the excellent composition for reducing the diabetic glucose level.
