<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-base ink improving the jetting stability from a nozzle or a penpoint and clogging resistance without lowering fixing properties, abrasion, water and marker resistances of a formed image. <P>SOLUTION: The water-base ink comprises a colorant, a resin, water glass and an organic solvent. The colorant is self-dispersible carbon black having anionic hydrophilic groups on the surface.
