<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize sticking of toner to an image carrier at the time of the start of an image forming device in which development bias is applied prior to the electrification of the image carrier. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming device which has an electrifying means which electrifies the image carrier, an exposure means which forms an electrostatic latent image on the image carrier, and a developing means to which a development bias is applied prior to the electrification of the image carrier and which has a developer carrier rotatably supported opposite the image carrier, and which transfers a toner image to transfer paper and fixes it, the linear velocity of the surface of the developer carrier when the drive of the image carrier is started and that when an image is formed are different, and when the ratio of the linear velocity of the surface of the developer carrier to the linear velocity of the surface of the image carrier is defined as a developer carrier to photoreceptor linear velocity ratio when the drive of the image carrier is started, the developer carrier to photoreceptor linear velocity ratio is 0.9 to 1.1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
