PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus which can shorten a time from deviating from a guide route to setting again the guide route and which can reduce an amount of calculations and an amount of data to be stored. SOLUTION: A route retrieval processing unit 22 has a guide route setting unit 22A for setting the guide route by retrieving a traveling route for connecting a departure place to a destination, a preliminary route setting unit 22B for calculating a preliminary route when a vehicle is deviated from the guide route before the vehicle passes the respective guide intersections, and a guide route changing unit for resetting the calculated preliminary route to a new guide route when the vehicle is actually deviated from the guide route. Thus, the preliminary route is previously calculated before passing by paying attention to the guide intersection included in the guide route, and when the vehicle is actually deviated from the guide route, the calculated preliminary route is set as a new guide route.
