PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hemoglobin standard sample preparation liquid hardly causing deterioration of Hb in preparation (dissolving/dilution) of a calibrator or a control blood and in preservation of the control blood. SOLUTION: This hemoglobin standard sample preparation liquid which is used for preparing a hemoglobin standard sample solution from dried hemoglobin or hemoglobin solution includes a buffer agent having a buffer capacity in the range of pH 5.0-8.5, and at least one kind of preservation agent selected from a group comprising amine-based compounds, alcohol-based compounds, aldehyde-based compounds, carboxylic acid-based compounds, phenol-based compounds, amide-based compounds, organohalogen-based compounds, isothiazolone-based compounds, organometallic compounds, EDTAs and boric acid.
