PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect knocking of a V-type engine by a single knock sensor while minimally restraining weight increase of a cylinder block. SOLUTION: A knock sensor mounting boss part 19Ld is formed integrally with a fastening bolt boss part 19Lb for fastening with a bolt a cylinder head to a top face of one bank 12L of the cylinder block 11 of the V-type engine, and the knock sensor mounting boss part 19Ld and a wall surface of the other bank 12R are coupled to each other by a rib 22b. Vibration of knocking of the one bank 12L is transmitted to the knock sensor 21 via the fastening bolt boss part 19Lb having high rigidity, and vibration of knocking of the other bank 12R is transmitted to the knock sensor 21 via the rib 22b, whereby the knocking of each of the banks 12L, 12R is surely detected by the single knock sensor 21.
