According to the parent patent, a film of strongly hydrophobic synthetic linear polyester or polycarbonate carries an adherent layer (A), which consists mainly of a homopolymer of a vinyl halo-ester or cyano-ester, or a copolymer of one of these esters with an Alpha,Beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid, vinyl acetate and/or vinyl alcohol. According to the present improvement, the layer (A) consists mainly of a copolymer of a vinyl halo-ester or cyano-ester with (meth)acrylamide or an N-methylol derivative of (meth)acrylamide. The film is used as a photographic base. The photographic emulsion layer adheres well to the layer (A).
