PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an envelope transport apparatus, for transporting an envelope along a first direction, transporting the envelope colliding with a stopper without moving of contents in the envelope, and stably transporting the same in a second direction intersecting the first direction. SOLUTION: This envelope transport apparatus 1 for transporting the envelope F where contents N are enclosed and sealed along the first direction A to collide with the stopper 22, and then transporting the same along the second direction B intersecting the first direction A is provided with a clamping means having upper and lower rollers 31a, 31b disposed on this side of the stopper 22 to clamp the envelope F transported along the first direction A from the upper and lower surfaces, and transport the same along the first direction A, and release clamping to the envelope F when the envelope F is transported in the second direction B.
