PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous particle occluding solid particles therein and having oil absorbability without swelling, a cosmetic containing the porous particle, and a method for producing the porous particle at a low cost. SOLUTION: The porous particle comprises a crystalline thermoplastic resin containing solid particles with 0.001-10μm size. The cosmetic comprises the porous particle. The method for producing the porous particle comprises the steps of mixing the crystalline thermoplastic resin, the solid particles with 0.001-10μm size and a low molecular weight compound having a melting point lower than the softening point (or the melting point) of the resin at a temperature higher than the softening point (or the melting point) of the resin, atomizing the mixture in a gas phase and removing the low molecular weight compound from the obtained particle.
