<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device, in which an inner surface engaging part 6 made of a rubber-like elastic material is formed on the inner surface of a metal attaching ring 3 of a lip seal attached to the outer surface of an attaching member and a plurality of engaging projections 7 and 8 are disposed in line in the axial direction on the inner surface of the inner surface engaging part 6, to be easily inserted into the attaching member, and capable of effectively sealing the gap between the sealing device and the attaching member. <P>SOLUTION: At least one engaging projection 8 of the plurality of engaging projections 7 and 8 is divided on the circumference with a plurality of notches 9, and the engaging projection 7 closely in contact with the whole periphery of the attaching member continuously on the circumference is disposed on the sealing fluid side of the divided engaging projection 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
