PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up an emission control by simplifying a circuit constitution for exposing pixels on an image carrier by light emitting elements arranged in a zigzag shape. SOLUTION: Image data from a data processing device 23 is inputted to a storage means 24. The pixel on the image carrier is exposed by light emitting elements of one line 28a by an output signal from a shift register 24a. The image carrier is moved in a direction X, and image data is transferred to a shift register 24b at a timing when the pixel is brought to light emitting elements of a next line 28b. Image data is outputted to light emitting elements of the one line 28b to expose the pixel again. Image data is sequentially transferred by the shift registers while the image carrier is moved, so that the same pixel is multi-exposed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
