PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold of a casting apparatus capable of venting gas inside a product cavity without allowing to molten metal leak to the outside even a large product without using a vent valve, and a method for venting gas inside the mold. SOLUTION: In the method for venting gas inside the mold, the gas inside a mold cavity is vented while injecting and filling the molten metal inside the mold cavity using a vertically clamping and casting type die casting machine having a slide core openably mounted in the horizontal direction and divided into a plurality of pieces. In the method, the die is brought into a low pressure mold clamping state using a mold clamping device of the die casting machine, and the molten metal is injected and filled inside the mold cavity by an injection device. The mold is switched to a high pressure mold clamping state at predetermined timing, as a result, only the gas inside the mold cavity is discharged and the leakage of the molten metal to the outside of the mold is prevented.
