PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-advancing cleaner capable of efficiently cleaning while corresponding to every region. SOLUTION: This self-advancing cleaner comprises autonomously traveling first and second cleaners 1, 2. The first cleaner is provided with distance measuring means 11 for measuring the distance of a region form by autonomously traveling a prescribed region prior to cleaning, a dust detecting means 12 for detecting dust on the region, and a first control part 10. The second cleaner 2 is provided with a second control part 20. The first control part 10 has a region determining part for determining first and second regions where the respective cleaners 1, 2 can travel, and a dust accumulated region on the basis of output values from the distance measuring means 11 and the dust detecting means 12; a first storage part for storing information on the first region and dust accumulated region; and a sending part for sending information on the second region. The second control part 20 has a second storage part for receiving and storing the information from the sending part. The first cleaner 1 autonomously travels at least the dust accumulated region to clean the first region on the basis of the information in the first storage part, and the second cleaner 2 autonomously travels and cleans the second region on the basis of the information in the second storage part.
