PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treating apparatus in which an upper side plate and a lower side plate resulting in bisecting a side plate body above and below are arranged with bearing insertion parts formed, the lower side plate is inserted in a groove part arranged in the inside end part of a garbage treating tank, the upper side plate is inserted in another groove part above the lower side plate inserting groove part to freely turnably fix an agitation shaft to a bearing, so that the assembling work of the agitation shaft and the bearing is simplified and the strength of each of the agitation shaft and the bearing is made higher. SOLUTION: The agitation shaft 5 to which a freely turnable agitation blade 4 is fixed is arranged in the garbage treating tank 6 between the face-to-face side plates 2 of a tank body 1 of the tank 6 by supporting both ends of the shaft 5 by the bearings 3. A microbe-contributed garbage treating material 7 is contained in the tank 6. Garbage 8 is agitated by the blade 4 together with the material 7 and decomposed by fermentation. The upper side plate 9a and the lower side plate 9b resulting in bisecting the side plate body 9 above and below are arranged with the bearing insertion parts 10a, 10b formed.
