1306978 Tail gates SMITH PAC CANADA Ltd 27 July 1970 [28 July 1969] 36206/70 Heading B7B [Also in Division E2] The tailgate T of a tipping body is provided with locks, comprising pins 33, 34 and slotted plates 27, 28 on the tailgate and body respectively, and is pivotally mounted by pins 18 and slotted plates 16 on the body such that during the initial opening the tailgate is moved linearly, rearwardly and upwardly, the locks being released during this motion. Hydraulic rams 19, 24 may be used to effect movement of the tailgate and may also apply a locking pressure when the tailgate is closed. The rams may be adapted to apply locking pressure during rearward movement of a compressing ram within the body. |
