<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent gritty appearance and light leakage of a liquid crystal display device, to enhance display quality and yield and to reduce manufacturing costs. <P>SOLUTION: Spacers 5 are disposed in a light shielding film 4. For this purpose, the spacers are previously mixed and dispersed in a black resist to be a light shielding film forming material and the light shielding film is formed by using this material. The spacers are fixed by the light shielding film. Accordingly, man-hours are reduced and fixation of the spacers can be reliably performed by eliminating a process of scattering the spacers after forming the light shielding film used in a conventional manufacturing method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
