<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back light controller in a rear face projection type display system, not stopping all operations for a failure in one back light or inverter circuit. <P>SOLUTION: This controller comprises a plurality of back light circuit blocks having an inverter circuit 11 for turning on the back light for projection, a means for outputting a control signal for controlling the circuit 11, and a means for detecting a failure of the circuit 11 and back lights 51, 54, 57 connected with the circuit 11. A number of back lights connected with the inverter circuits inside the respective blocks when n of blocks are provided is n. When the back light 54 connected with the circuit 11 is in failure, operation of the circuit 11 is stopped. When the circuit 11 is in failure or stopped, light quantity of back lights other than the back lights 51, 54, 57 is uniformed by changing duty ratio of the control signal for normal inverter circuits 12, 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
