<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thick film chip resistor which is excellent in anticorrosion so as to prevent the invasion of moisture or corrosive gases such as sulfide gas in the atmosphere to the surface of the resistor or electrodes, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: This thick film chip resistor comprises a resistance film 2 extending to the both end parts of a rectangular insulating substrate 1 on the insulating substrate 1, a pair of inner electrode films 3 overlapping the both end parts of the resistance film 2, a series of protective films 4 for covering the surfaces of the resistance film 2 and the both inner electrode films 3, and a pair of outer electrode films 5 for separately connecting the inner electrode films 3 to the outer circuits. The outer electrode films 5 are formed at the both ends on the insulating substrate 1 interposing the protective films 4 so as to separately face the inner electrode films 3. In the protective films 4, laser grooves 20 penetrating through the inner electrode films 3 and the outer electrode films 5 facing each other are formed, and conductive regions 21 are formed inside the laser grooves 20 to connect the inner electrode films 3 to the outer electrode films 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
