PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and/or reproducing device which prevents foreign matter such as dust from attaching to a driving shaft and accurately performs the positional control of a recording and/or reproducing part as a body to be moved. SOLUTION: In a feeding mechanism 31 of an optical pickup 8, an electromechanical conversion element 35 is used as a driving source and the optical pickup 8 supported by a driving shaft 34 is subjected to a moving operation by extending and contracting the driving shaft 34 attached to the electromechanical conversion element. Then, dust or else entering, for example, during the loading and unloading of a disk cartridge 2 is prevented from attaching to the driving shaft 34 by disposing a dust protection part 51 on a base 10 and covering the upper part of the driving shaft 34.
