The apparatus for positioning a femoral hip implant has an ovaloid section formed on the femoral implant at the level of the metaphysiary zone (1b). A compactor for the spongy bone tissue reproduces the form of the implant and has projections formed as lugs or ribs. These compact the spongy bone at the level of the front (1d) and rear (1e) wall of the femur.
