<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption and a mounting area of a complex scrambling code generator. <P>SOLUTION: Any one of a short scrambling code and a long scrambling code is inputted to a complex coder 3 by switching a short scrambling code generator 1 and a long scrambling code generator 2 through selectors 4 and 5 on the basis of a select signal SS as an input. When the short scrambling code generator 1 is selected, the short scrambling code generator 1 and the complex coder 3 are initialized by the input of a symbol pulse signal SYMP. When the long scrambling code generator 2 is selected, the complex coder 3 is not initialized in this constitution.
