SOLUTION: In the battery of which the power generation element including a negative electrode, a positive electrode and a liquid electrolyte containing at least either aluminum or an aluminum alloy is installed in a closed space, a part of members composing the closed space is formed by a hydrogen gas permeating material containing organic substances with 30°C and a gas permeating coefficient of an He gas of not less than 2×10<SP>-10</SP>(cm<SP>3</SP>(STP) cm/sec cm<SP>2</SP>cmHg).
