PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a recommendable road while searching a route so that a user views it easily. SOLUTION: The system is provided with an input information processing section 51 which receives inputs of information of a stating point and an end from the user, a map information reading section 52 which reads map data where roads are represented by combinations of nodes and links from a storage device such as a CD-ROM or the like, a recommendable route processing section 54 which calculates a recommendable route up to a prescribed point based on both the information of the starting point and the end being received by the input information processing section 51 and the map data read by the map information reading section 52, obtains the link making up the calculated recommendable route and changes the direction of the link thereby varying the recommendable route, and a screen drawing processing section 55 which draws a map by using the recommendable route being varied by the recommendable route processing section 54.
