PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head slider assembly having good heat radiation characteristics during the operation of a magnetic head. SOLUTION: This magnetic head slider assembly is arranged on the yoke 6B of an upper magnetic pole 6, and provided with a heat sink layer 60 for conducting heat to the yoke 6B. When an overcoat layer 2 is made of alumina having low heat conductivity, heat generated during the operation of a magnetic head 12 is conducted from the yoke 6B to the heat sink layer 60, and the heat is smoothly radiated through the heat sink layer 60. In this case, since heat radiation characteristics are improved by an amount equal to the heat radiation operation of the heat sink layer 60 compared with a conventional magnetic head slider assembly not equipped with a heat sink layer 60, less heat is accumulated.
