Parallel recovery of RNA and protein from tissue, useful e.g. for diagnosis of tumors, by treating sample with RNAlater solution, homogenizing and separating epithelial cells

Parallel recovery of RNA and protein comprising first treating a resected tissue sample with a preparation solution containing RNAlater (RTM) at 40-100 g/100 ml, mechanically disintegrating the tissue, then immunological separation of epithelial cells (EC) using antibodies that bind specifically to surface proteins of EC, is new. RNA and protein are then separated from EC by usual methods.
