PURPOSE: A running machine and an operating system and method thereof are provided to enable a user's physical change according to the exercise intensity and time to be displayed using an avatar, making exercise routines fresh and motivating, thereby offering the user simulated exercise environment for both emotional and physical interactivity. CONSTITUTION: The running machine(100) comprises: a running machine driver(120) having a belt on a rotating roller driven by a motor; and a controller(110) connected upward with respect to the running machine driver(120), the controller(110) including an input unit(111), a memory(112), a central processing unit(113), and a display(114). User's identification, weight, exercise schedule, or running conditions are input to the input unit(111). The memory(112) includes a user's ID storage portion(1121), an avatar storage portion(1122), an exercise schedule storage portion(1123), a previous running termination time storage portion(1124), an exercise amount storage portion(1125) and a control program(1126). The central processing unit(113) for processing storage or output of an avatar. The display(114) visually displays a change in the avatar output from the central processing unit(113).
