<p>The closure includes a closure body 2 moulded of a relatively rigid thermoplastic material and a washer component 20 formed of a thermoplastic elastomer. The body 2 includes a head portion 3 having a ribbed external gripping area 7, and an externally threaded portion 4 delimited by an annular shoulder 12. The washer component 20 is integrally bonded to the closure body at a molecular level and covers the annular shoulder to act as a sealing gasket. In addition, diametrically opposed fingers 22 and 23 project away from the threaded portion 4 to provide a frictional surface within the gripping area of the head portion. The washer component 20 may include a colour coding pigment which is clearly visible in the fingers 22 and 23.</p> |
