PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin care preparation for external use, synergistically improved in its moisture-retaining effect, and therefore having the high moisture- retaining effect. SOLUTION: This skin care preparation for external use contains glycogen and one or more than two kinds of compounds selected from an amino acid, peptide, a polyhydric alcohol, a higher alcohol and its derivative, a phospholipid, a glycolipid, steroids, saccharide other than the glycogen.
