<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switchable mirror glass material coated with a thin film of a magnesium-nickel alloy, a switchable mirror glass and its use. <P>SOLUTION: The switchable mirror material coated with the thin film of the magnesium-nickel alloy characterized by: (1) the thin film of the magnesium- nickel alloy is composed of MgNix (0.1<x<0.3; (2) a catalyst layer is formed on a surface of the above thin film; (3) a protective layer is arbitrarily formed on the above catalyst layer; (4) it has a chromic property that it becomes transparent when hydrogenated at room temperature (about 20°C); (5) it has the chromic property that it becomes a mirror when dehydrogenated between room temperature and 100°C is provided. In addition, the mirror glass of which the surface of the substrate is coated with the above switchable mirror material, a switchable mirror window, a switching method of the switchable mirror glass and an article having a mirror switching function are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
