PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric deionized water producing apparatus which reduces a material cost, a processing cost, and an assembling cost by simplifying its structure and completely prevents the occurrence of scale of calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, or the like. SOLUTION: In the electric deionized water producing apparatus, deionized water is produced by removing ionic impurities in water by passing the water through a deionization chamber filled with an organic porous ion exchanger having a three-dimensional mesh structure, and the impurities caught by the ion exchanger are removed outside a system by applying a direct current electric field to the deionization chamber. The application of the electric field is done so that ions to be removed migrate reversely in the water passage direction in the ion exchanger. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
