<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a field emission type electron source which can be formed in a large area easily, and its manufacturing method and a display device. <P>SOLUTION: The field emission type electron source 10 comprises a lower electrode 12, a particulate layer 14, an insulating layer 15, and an upper electrode 16. The insulating layer 15 and the upper electrode 16 comprises many pores 15a and pores 16a communicating each other. The particulate layer 14 is a layer in which particulates 14a made of a conductive material are filled. When electric field is impressed between the upper electrode 16 and the lower electrode 12, electrons emitted from the particulates 14a-1 that are separated from the pores 16a of the upper electrode 16 fly outside through the pores 15a and the pores 16a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
