PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance power conversion apparatus of high reliability at a low cost. SOLUTION: A circuit board 4 on which a peripheral circuit element 5 such as a control circuit is mounted is placed at a height different from a base board 1 on which a power element 2 is mounted by being shifted from the board 1 in a lateral direction in a case 30. Further, the bottom 31 of a part in the case 30 where the circuit board 4 is housed is formed at a different height so as to be isolated from a heat radiation fin 7. Thereby a rise in the temperature of the circuit board 4 due to the heat generation of the power element 2 is restrained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
