<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture powder of novel composite ceramic particles. <P>SOLUTION: This cathode for the molten carbonate fuel cell is formed porous mainly comprising NiO, and so as to cover the surface of the NiO with a solid solution layer containing Fe-Mg-Ni-O. By forming the solid solution layer so as to selectively cover only the surface of NiO, elusion of NiO is effectively suppressed by use of a small amount of the solid solution layer, and since the solid solution layer is rich in Fe to Mg, Fe forms very stable Li-Fe oxide in molten carbonate by the reaction of Fe with Li in the molten carbonate, and therefore, fine structure on the surface of the electrode is stably maintained, and this action contributes to effectively suppress the elution of NiO by a small amount of MgFe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>4</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
