PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video camera capable of avoiding needless operations from being enforced on an operator because the number of turning times is finite. SOLUTION: When a panning rotation chassis 3 is clockwise turned from a reference position by or counter clockwise turned from the reference position by 6,000 pulses (equivalent to 1.5 turn), the punning rotation chassis 3 is automatically reversed by 4,000 pulses (1 turn: 360 degrees). The reference position is discriminated on the basis of an output of a photo interrupters 15A, 15B whose output varies with a turning position state of the panning rotation chassis 3 and an output of a Hall element 31 for detecting the presence of a magnet 30.
