PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal structure that is increased in the fixing strength between external terminals and a encapsulating member, and to provide an electrolytic capacitor using the terminal structure. SOLUTION: In the terminal structure, columnar terminal sections (rivets 6 and 8) connected to an element (capacitor element 22) installed in the encapsulating member (encapsulating case 2) are attached to the element (22) through the encapsulating member (2) and external terminal sections (10 and 12) are respectively attached to the columnar terminal sections (6 and 8). In the vicinities of the through sections (38) of the columnar terminal sections (6 and 8), a single or a plurality of recessed sections (40 and 42) are formed on the encapsulating member (2) and a single or a plurality of locking sections (34 and 36) are formed on the external terminal sections (10 and 12). The fixing strengths between the encapsulating member (2) and columnar terminal sections (6 and 8) are strengthened by inserting the locking sections (34 and 36) into the recessed sections (40 and 42).
