PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a telephone directory registering operation of a cordless handset in a cordless telephone system by making a telephone directory transfer operation possible and to store/transfer another infrared remote control signal as well. SOLUTION: The cordless telephone system is provided with: a storage means for storing telephone directory data; another storage means for storing data except the telephone directory data; and an infrared data communication means for transmitting-receiving the telephone directory data and the data in the other memory, and is capable of transferring the telephone directory data to the cordless handset and capturing remote control data of an AV device or the like as well.
