PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deflecting yoke in which the deflecting efficiency of a sub yoke can be improved without deteriorating the focus performance of PRT. SOLUTION: A toroidal core comprises a thin (large inner diameter) portion 10a and a thick (small inner diameter) portion. Since the horizontal sub yoke 4 is wound at the thin (large inner diameter) portion 10a and the thick (small inner diameter) portion 10b can come close to a PRT tube 9, the magnetic field 7 of the horizontal sub yoke 4 passing inside the PRT tube 9 becomes stronger than the conventional magnetic field 7 even with the same winding quantity of horizontal sub yoke and the same current. Thereby, by making small the inner diameter of the unwound portion of the toroidal core and having it closer to the PRT tube 9, deflecting sensitivity of the sub yoke can be improved without deteriorating the focus performance of the PRT tube 9.
