<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode material excellent in charging/discharging cycle characteristics and charge/discharge characteristics at high current density and to provide an electrode using the electrode material. <P>SOLUTION: This electrode material comprises a metal oxide having layer structure represented by general formula A<SB>x</SB>B<SB>y</SB>O<SB>z</SB>: (A represents at least one element selected from a group comprising Al, Ti, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, and Ni; and B represents at least one element selected from a group comprising V, Mo, and W.), and the electrode is manufactured with the electrode material satisfying the relations of 0.01≤x≤4, 1≤y≤6, and 4≤z≤13 in general formula A<SB>x</SB>B<SB>y</SB>O<SB>z</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
