<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facial image collation system and a facial image collation method that can retrieve facial image even if facial images are not completely corresponding to each other at the time of the collation. <P>SOLUTION: The facial image to be retrieved is fetched from a facial image registering device 10, the fetched facial image is divided by specific facial image parts (such as eyes, a nose and a mouth) in a registering portion 20 of a facial image data server, and they are registered as combined data in a database 30 together with the original facial image. Then, data on the facial image parts to be retrieved is read by using a facial image retrieving device 40, the retrieval by parts retrieving portions 60 for a part is required in a retrieval display portion 50, image of the whole face is acquired from the database 30 based on the retrieval result of the corresponding parts by the parts retrieving portions 60. The corresponding number of the whole face image acquired from the database 30 is transmitted to a facial image retrieving device 40 that has required the retrieval and thereby the image is displayed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
